Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians put on a blockbuster show last night to win the prestigious trophy of the Indian Premier League for the 5th time. Mumbai Indians are now the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League and just the second one to defend the title.

Everything that the Mumbai Indians touched last night turned into gold as the outperformed Delhi Capitals in all the departments of the game and defeated them by five wickets.

Following the win, social media was flooded with amazing reactions for the winning team. From congratulatory messages to tributes, netizens were all praises for the Defending Champions. Among many, former cricketer and commentator Michael Vaughan took to his social media and left everyone stunned with his bold statement.

In his tweet, Michael Vaughan claimed that it’s high time that the BCCI hands over the captaincy to Rohit Sharma for the T20 format of the game. Vaughan heaped praises on the Hitman and called him ‘fantastic man-manager and leader’. He wrote:

“Without question Rohit Sharma should be the Indian T20 captain .. fantastic man manager & leader .. & he knows exactly how to win T20 games .. it would also give Virat chance to take a breather and just be the player .. it’s works for all other teams around the world ..#IPL2020”

Well, this isn’t the first time that someone has expressed that Rohit should be the captain for the shortest format of the game for team India. There has always been this debate if team India needs split captaincy or not.

Therefore after Rohit Sharma was able to take his team to another glorious win last night, Twitter was once again divided as the fans indulged in a debate over the captaincy. While there are many who think that Rohit Sharma should be made the skipper of the shortest format of the game, on the other hand, there are many who feel that Virat Kohli is superb as a captain and India doesn’t need split captaincy.

an unfit captain wins you trophies and a fit captain wins you a pass to nearest gym. choose your captain wisely.

Mumbai has many factors to favour them … Can’t point Rohit’s captaincy as reason. Their franchise is the richest and players gets facilities compared to others ..On top of that they were backed by Jhonty rhodes, Mahela and Ricky You can see the change Delhi got because of ricky

As a supporter of #RCB yes virat isn’t doing his best for franchise, but nowhere you can compare nohit to virat in blue!
P.s: its a team game man

Look at the players of MI. If these are from RCB & Virat is captain then they’ll do the same thing. Hope everyone can understand this !!

Had @imVkohli had a team like @mipaltan then he would have won as many if not more,,,even @ImRo45 was sitting outside they were winning easily.
