Meanwhile, talking about Dhoni, the legendary player met the Indian team recently in Ranchi where the Men in Blue played the 1st match of the T20I series against New Zealand. He will return to lead the Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.

In the previous edition of the IPL, Dhoni had passed the baton on to Ravindra Jadeja last year but due to a lack of results, the all-rounder had to give up on the responsibility to the original captain. It looked like IPL 2022 could be the last season of MS Dhoni, however, the legendary captain assured that he would return to field in 2023 as he wanted to play his last match in front of the Chepauk crowd.
