India’s newly appointed vice-captain of Test format, Rohit Sharma has suffered an injury on his hand in a training session before the upcoming South Africa tour. It is learned that Rohit suffered the injury during the net sessions before the Indian cricket team and staff members entered quarantine in Mumbai. The team is scheduled to travel to South Africa this week.
As per the reports, the BCCI has summoned India A captain Priyank Panchal as his replacement for him ahead of the tour of South Africa.

“There are some issues with his hand but the medical team is trying to sort it out,” a source close to Rohit Sharma told PTI.
BCCI via their official Twitter handle also confirmed that Rohit has been ruled out due to a left hamstring injury.
“Priyank Panchal replaces injured Rohit Sharma in India’s Test squad. Rohit sustained a left hamstring injury during his training session here in Mumbai yesterday. He has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match Test series against South Africa,” the BCCI tweet stated.

The Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma was having a batting session with Ajinkya Rahane, who was recently removed from his position of vice-captain of the Test format. Both the senior batters decided to face an over each against the three throwdown experts before the injury took place.
