After eight long years of his Test debut, India’s star opener Rohit Sharma finally scored his maiden overseas Test century, and what a glorious way to get there. Rohit, who is known for his fascinating shots, brought up his maiden overseas ton in a blockbuster way on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test against England on Saturday.
As the day started, overnight batsmen KL Rahul and Rohit brought the much-needed momentum back to their side. They started out calmly, tackling the England bowlers cautiously in order to save their wickets. They started frustrating the England bowlers with their crispy shots, however, the amazing partnership soon came to an end after Anderson got better of KL Rahul and sent him back to the pavilion for 46 runs.
Cheteshwar Pujara joined Rohit at the crease and they started to up the ante. Pujara showed a lot of intent and helped Rohit take control of the innings. Soon, Rohit reached the much-awaited milestone as he scored his first overseas Test century with a MONSTROUS SIX!
He scored 100* runs from 204 balls, consisting of 12 boundaries and 1 six against England to bring back the Indian side to the driver’s seat.
With a big smile on his face, and the bat facing the sky, Rohit Sharma was cheered on by the Indian cricket team from the dressing room. And a similar scene was witnessed on social media as almost the entire Indian cricket fraternity took to their social media to celebrate Rohit Sharma’s first overseas hundred. In fact, Rohit’s stunning six reminded everyone of legendary batsman Virender Sehwag.

The moment he waited for years. Got there in a grand style with a stunning six. But no grand celebration. No animated reaction. Just a simple man with a class. That’s Rohit Sharma for you
