While Dhoni still enjoys a massive fan following of over 8 million on the micro-blogging site, Dhoni’s account is no more verified. Yes, as shocking as it may sound, Twitter on Saturday removed the blue tick from legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s account.
For the unversed, the blue tick on a Twitter handle is to let people know that the account is authentic. It is believed that if the person has a blue badge on their account then the person must be authentic, notable, and active. While the official reason isn’t known yet, it is speculated that the cricketer’s unavailability on the micro-blogging site might be the reason behind this.
Meanwhile, this activity from Twitter sent netizens in frenzy. This hasn’t gone down well with his fans who just can’t get enough of ‘Mahi’. Many fans haven’t taken this lightly once the news broke out.
