VIDEO: Crowd At Chepauk Stadium Went Berserk As MS Dhoni Walked Out For His 200th Match

Legendary captain MS Dhoni, who is hailed as one of the greatest captains, has added another feather to his already illustrious hat but this time as the captain of his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni has become the first captain to lead an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise in 200 matches as his side takes on Rajasthan Royals in match No. 17 of IPL 2023 in Chepauk on Wednesday.

Dhoni, who has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings squad ever since its inception, was felicitated by the team ahead of his 200th appearance as their captain. CSK acquired the services of Dhoni in 2008 for a whopping USD 1.5 million, roughly INR 6 crore at the time and the rest is history.

Under his leadership, CSK has gone on to become one of the most successful franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni is the second-most successful Indian Premier League captain with four trophies (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021) to his name.

Besides this, he has scored the most number of runs as IPL captain. Dhoni has scored 4,482 runs while Virat Kohli has 4,881 runs as Royal Challengers Bangalore captain.

Fans Gave Thala A Standing Ovation

Meanwhile, as Dhoni walked out for a toss in the match against Rajasthan Royals the fans present at the Chepauk stadium gave a standing ovation to him with a huge ear-deafening roar.  The video of the same has been going viral on the internet.
