Fans Slammed The BCCI For Not Honouring Virat Kohli’s 100th Test: The much-awaited 1st Test match between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali starting March 4 will is going to be without the spectators behind the closed doors. Incidentally, the 1st Test match will also be legendary Virat Kohli’s landmark 100th Test.
“First test between India and Sri Lanka will be played behind closed door with no spectator allowed,” said Punjab Cricket Association CEO Deepak Sharma to ANI.
Virat Kohli will become the 11th Indian player to play 100 Tests match. He will join an elite list topped by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar (200) and current India head coach Rahul Dravid (163) among others.
Initially, Virat was supposed to play his 100th Test match in Cape Town last month during India’s tour of South Africa. However, he missed the second Test match of the series, in Johannesburg.
His 100th Test match was supposed to be more special as it was to be played in M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangaluru, the city for which he plays in the IPL, but a change in schedule resulted in Mohali being the venue for Kohli’s milestone game for India.
Meanwhile, fans on social media are slamming the BCCI for not honoring Virat Kohli’s massive achievement. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati to this:
The audience is not allowed in the 1st Test but is allowed in the 2nd one? 1st Test will be Virat Kohli’s 100th Test match. Worst cricket board ever! #CricketTwitter #ViratKohli?

It’s a pity Virat Kohli’s 100th Test won’t have any crowd to cheer one of his biggest cricketing days. Maybe some percentage should have been let in during the Tests @BCCI

Playing 100 Test matches for your country is a big thing. A special and rare achievement for a player. Kohli deserves all the hype around him when he plays his 100th Test in Mohali, if not 100%, allow 50% or 75% crowd.
No vacant stadium please @PunjabGovtIndia

Ganduly and Jay Shah plan
Kohli loves playing in front of crowd. These MFs spoiling his 100th test.
Pak is allowing almost full crowds for PSL games. Shame on BCCI. Go and learn from Pak @BCCI https://t.co/KuKc41qRci
