However, one such series finally came, when Kohli had a miserable outing during the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. After winning the T20 World Cup, Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket to focus on ODI and Test cricket. He was back in the side in the ODI series after a hiatus. However, what followed was miserable to say the least. The whole batting line up except captain Rohit Sharma suffered. Kohli could not get going and got out to the spinners in all the three games. Kohli stumbled to read the craft Sri Lankan spinners and ended with 24, 14 and 20 in the three innings. He is not able to comprehend the line, judge the length and even the turn. This smells danger for Kohli and the Indian team with home test series coming up.
