The world-famous nickname of Virat Kohli is the ‘KING’ or ‘KING Kohli’. However, the 35-year-old India and RCB star feels shy and “embarrassed” whenever anyone calls him with this nickname.

Virat Kohli and RCB players had a fun time with the fans on Tuesday evening at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium at the RCB Unbox event. At the event, Smriti Mandhana and her RCB women’s team presented the WPL trophy in front of the fans. The women’s side, who won the WPL 2024 trophy a couple of nights ago, were given a guard of honour by the RCB men’s team staff.

Kohli, who is making his comeback to cricket, got a huge roar from the Chinnaswamy crowd when he entered the field.

The eagerness and excitement to see Virat Kohli take the pitch is even more this time considering he has been out of action for the past couple of months due to the birth of his second child, a son whom Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, have named Akaay.

At the event, the anchor addressed Virat Kohli with the nickname ‘KING’. But Kohli smiled and said he feels shy at being referred to by this nickname.

The anchor asked, “How is the King feeling?” The crowd went bonkers as Kohli began to speak.

Kohli smiled and said, “Guys, you all need to calm down; we’ve got to get to Chennai quickly ” (smiles). I feel embarrassed when you refer to me as the King; call me Virat.

Hopefully, we can double it up with the trophies: Virat Kohli

Smriti Mandhana and RCB women’s team ended the wait of the fans for RCB’s first-ever franchise trophy by winning the IPL 2024 trophy.

Now, Virat Kohli hopes to double the count of trophies.

“Hopefully we can double it up with the trophies, that will be something truly special,” Kohli said.

“As everyone knows, I’m always gonna be here, try to be part of the group that wins it (IPL) for the first time…I will try my absolute best for the fans, for the franchise…its kind of a dream of mine as well over so many years, to know what it feels like to win the IPL,” he added.

RCB and CSK will kick off the campaign on March 22 in Chennai.
