Finally We Will Get To See Arjun Tendulkar With The Big Boys

Mushtaq Ali T20: Arjun Tendulkar added to Mumbai squad | Cricket News - Times of India

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will commence from 10 January 2021. A total of 38 teams will be competing in this T20 tournament. All the teams have announced their squad. Arjun Tendulkar, along with Krutik Hanagavadi, is added to the Mumbai squad. The chief selector of Mumbai’s team, Salil Ankola, ratified it earlier today. This is Arjun’s maiden call-up in the Mumbai head team.

The officials stated, “Earlier the BCCI had asked to select 20 players. But later they said that 22 players can be selected in the squad, accordingly the two players were added to the squad.” This led to the inclusion of two pacers in the Mumbai team.

The left-arm bowling all-rounder was not selected in the initial squad, which was announced a few days back. He was the part of Mumbai D in the practice games and didn’t impress much in the four matches. The 21-years old took four wickets with the ball and scored only seven runs with the bat.

Arjun Tendulkar has travelled with Indian Cricket Team and Mumbai Indians as a net bowler recently. Arjun went with the Indian team because of his left-arm action. He gave a tough competition to the Indian batsmen, troubling them with his bowling.

Even with Mumbai Indians, he enjoyed with the other players in the squad. He would have surely learnt a lot with the experienced players of the teams. Hence, he will look to use that experience in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, 2021.

Apart from bowling as a net bowler, Arjun has also played for U-19 Indian Test team in Sri Lanka as well as in the age-group tournaments. In the T20 Mumbai, he took five wickets and also assembled 104 runs with the willow. Mumbai will play their first game on 11 January and Arjun Tendulkar will be looking to impress everyone with his all-round abilities in the league.
