Indian Cricket Team under captain Rohit Sharma became the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 champions. They ended their draught of 11 long years without an ICC title. The team played dominantly and did not lose any of the matches in the tournament. It was the first instance that a team managed to win a T20 World Cup without losing any game. Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20Is after the final.
However, rewind a few months ago, Rohit Sharma suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia in Ahmedabad. The team had won all the 10 games till the final and was destined for history. However, they fell short. It was a dream for Rohit to win a ODI World Cup. Now, the 2027 ODI World Cup is set to happen in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Sharma is set to be 41 years old by that time. It is not clear whether he will be part of that tournament.

However, new Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir has stated that he wants both of Rohit and Kohli to feature in that tournament. However, it will depend on the fitness and form of both the players.
Now, former India player Saba Karim has praised Rohit Sharma and stated that he is batting beautifully in the last few years and his form is on the rise. So, if he keeps batting like this, he could definitely play a part in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Sharma has been batting like a pro in the last few years. He has taken the aggressive Moto at the start and put the pressure on the bowlers by batting with intent and selflessly. He played a big part in the ODI World Cup 2023 and the T20 World Cup 2024.
