Indian batting legend and East Delhi’s BJP MP, Gautam Gambhir, had donated INR 1 crore to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The entire country is in the mood for a massive celebration on January 22, the rituals of which have already started. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the consecration ceremony along with President Droupadi Murmu, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, state governor Anandiben Patel, the president of the temple trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, and 7,000 dignitaries from various fields, including business, sports, and entertainment. Among cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli have personally been invited.
Gautam Gambhir made a significant contribution of INR 1 crore to Ram Mandir
In light of the upcoming consecration (Pran Pratishta) ceremony of Lord Rama, scheduled for January 22, it has been learned that Gautam Gambhir had donated INR 1 crore during the Ram temple’s construction. This noble gesture from the former KKR skipper has received praise from the fans.
In a statement he had put out previously, Gambhir said: “A glorious Ram temple has been the dream of all Indians. Finally this long standing issue has been put to rest. This will pave the way for unity and tranquillity. A small contribution from me and my family has been made in this endeavor.”
The cost of building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is estimated to be around INR 1800 crore.
Gautam Gambhir is among those who are excited and eager for the consecration ceremony and he has expressed his devotion toward Lord Rama on social media.
Recently, the 42-year-old took part in cleaning activities in the Shiv Mandir in Karol Bagh as part of the Swachh Mandir Cleanliness Drive. This is a campaign that has been initiated by PM Modi and Gambhir actively took part in it.
He was seen mopping the floor of the Shiv Mandir in Karol Bagh.
