Former Indian cricketer and world cup hero, Gautam Gambhir has turned a year older and is celebrating his 40th birthday today. The former Indian and Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer is currently in Mumbai for commentary during the ongoing 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League and will be celebrating the special day with his fellow commentators.

Wishes have been pouring in from corners for the legendary cricketer. Among many, Gambhir’s former IPL franchise KKR also took to their official Twitter handle to wish the star. In their Tweet, KKR hailed Gambhir for teaching them to dream. KKR also asked whether Gambhir liked his birthday gift last night. KKR wrote:

“Happy Birthday to the man who taught us to dream! We hope you liked your birthday gift last night”

For the unversed, Gautam Gambhir, who has led Kolkata Knight Riders to victory twice during his leadership, was a happy man after KKR defeated Delhi Capitals to make it to the finals of IPL 2021. KKR will now take against Chennai Super Kings in the final showdown of IPL 2021 at Dubai International Stadium.

The tweet soon caught the attention of Gautam Gambhir, who was quick to come up with a reply to it. In his reply, Gambhir wished all the luck and success to Kolkata Knight Riders. He also thanked the team for a thrilling birthday wish last night, referring to KKR’s win last night. He wrote:

“We dreamt together, we won together! Thanks a ton & wish you all the success my people! P.s. The thriller birthday gift gave me goosebumps, loved it!”
