The young and talented Shubman Gill achieved a big milestone in the ongoing IPL 2023 game number 62 between Gujarat Titans and SunRisers Hyderabad at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gill, whose previous high score of 96 came last season, finally registered his maiden IPL century.
Gill Registered His Maiden IPL Century At Narendra Modi Stadium
Gill, who is currently plying his trade for Gujarat Titans, has emerged as one of the most consistent players in the league. Of the 12 games he has played in the IPL 2023 for GT, Gill has scored four fifties, all of which came in the home ground Narendra Modi Stadium. He was aiming for an elusive triple-figure mark in the ongoing season, but he was restricted to 94 in the match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 7, however, on Monday, he finally achieved the milestone.
Gill walked out to open the innings with Wriddhiman Saha, but the latter was dismissed for a three-ball duck. But GT put it quickly behind as Gill took the game by storm. Gill raced through the powerplay, smashing 36 off just 16 balls which included an array of fours against Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Gill walked out to bat with all-guns-blazing and smashed the SRH bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He played a blistering knock of 101 runs off 58 balls. His knock was laced with 13 fours and 1 stunning six.
