The last week of the league phase of the IPL 2023 gets underway on Monday with the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) hosting the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
With only 9 matches to go, 9 teams are still in the race for 4 spots in the playoffs.GT can seal a playoff spot today if they defeat SRH as they will reach to 18 points, which will mean they also will finish in the top 2.
The Gujarat Titans (GT) will don a lavender jersey for today’s match against SRH.
Why are Gujarat Titans(GT) wearing pink and different jersey in today’s match vs SRH?

The Gujarat Titans are wearing a lavender-colored jersey today as part of their initiative to promote awareness about cancer. Lavender is chosen as the color for their attire as it symbolizes all the different types of cancer.
The COO of the Gujarat Titans franchise said: “Cancer causes millions of deaths worldwide and with a devastating impact on patients and their families. We are happy to do our bit in raising awareness about cancer, which not only is an effort to educate people about the importance of early detection but also underscores the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to reduce cancer risks.”Our team is committed to drive positive change and contribute to the global fight against cancer.”
#TitansFAM, get ready for a new hue on the Men in Blue as we are set to don the special lavender jersey for our final home game against #SRH to raise awareness about the early detection and prevention of cancer.

GT captain Hardik Pandya said: “Cancer is a battle fought by millions in India and across the globe, and as a team, we feel responsible towards raising awareness about this deadly disease. Wearing lavender jerseys is our way of showing solidarity with cancer patients, survivors, and their families. We hope our actions will inspire others to take preventive measures and support those who are fighting this battle.”
Gujarat Titans (GT) are only the second franchise in the IPL to wear a different colored jersey than their usual ones in one of their matches. RCB have had the tradition of playing one game a season in Green clothes to promote their ‘Go Green’ campaign.
The Titans’ last league game will be against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy.
