“Nasser Hussain Paid To Speak For Technology…”- Harbhajan Singh Made A Controversial Remark

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh launched an attack on the ICC for the existing rules on the Decision Review System (DRS) as he expressed his displeasure over a few decisions made during the Pakistan vs South Africa match in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

A nail-biting encounter between both the sides saw the clash go right to the wire and it was South Africa, that eventually won the game by 1 wicket over Pakistan at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

However, the thrilling clash had its own share of controversies. In fact, the game ended on a controversial note where Tabraiz Shamsi survived a close LBW call courtesy of the umpire’s call. Bowling his final over, with the Pakistan cricket team just needing one wicket to win, Haris Rauf hit Tabraiz Shamsi’s pads and appealed for LBW.

It looked very close at first glance but the on-field umpire gave it not out. Pakistan team wasn’t satisfied with the result, therefore, they decided to challenge the on-field call and the replay showed that the ball was hitting the stumps on the umpire’s call.

Harbhajan Singh Furious Over DRS Result:

After the match, Harbhajan Singh took to his social media and referred to the same incident. Bhajji expressed his disappointment and claimed that it was because of the ‘DRS’ and ‘bad umpiring’ that Pakistan lost the game. He wrote:

Bad umpiring and bad rules cost Pakistan this game.. @ICC should change this rule .. if the ball is hitting the stump that’s out whether umpire gave out or not out doesn’t matter.. otherwise what is the use of technology??? @TheRealPCB vs #SouthAfrica #worldcup”

Bhajji Slammed Nasser Hussain On Twitter

In another Tweet, the former Indian cricketer took a dig at Nasser Hussain and alleged that the former England skipper was paid to speak in favor of technology. His statement came while replying to a user, who shared a video clip of Nasser Hussain explaining the rules of DRS. Replying to an X user, Bhajji wrote:

“Paid to speak for tech to show tech is right .he is suggesting tech is right @imVkohli isn’t Coz tech must have paid the broadcaster to show how important is tech .. Ok if the tech is right go with tech y do u need umpires to stick to the their own decisions? Utterly nonsense .. use 1 tech or umpire .. don’t make people fool who love this game blindly”
