Harbhajan Singh Salutes Gautam Gambhir For His New Campaign

Last updated:

Former Indian cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir has started a drive to feed the weaker sections of the society as he launched a noble ‘Jan Rasoi’ (community kitchen) campaign, which provides lunch to the needy people for just Rs. 1. On Friday, he launched his third ‘Jan Rasoi’ in his constituency’s Patparganj area.

These community kitchens have been developed by converting a vacant ‘Dhalav Ghar’ or a garbage storage unit into a modern community kitchen, which will provide healthy meals to everyone.

At the launch, Gautam Gambhir said in a statement, “I have always felt that everybody has the right to healthy and hygienic food irrespective of caste, creed, religion or financial condition. It is saddening to see the homeless and needy not being able to get even two square meals a day.”

Meanwhile, the former cricketer has been receiving praises from all corners for his noble deed. Among many, former Indian cricketer and good friend of Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh also took to his Twitter and shared a video, where he was seen lauding Gambhir for the work he has been doing for the weaker section of the society. He said:

“I want to congratulate you (Gautam) and salute your vision of feeding the needy for Rs 1 by providing them with ‘Jan Thaali’ lunch meals that will ensure nobody sleeps on an empty stomach. Food is an essential aspect of one’s life and people who can fulfill that for others are truly noble.”

“Keep doing this sort of work more often. I pray for your good health and may God bless you with more power to do such work. Take care brother!” he concluded.

Sharing the video, Bhajji wrote:
