Hardik Pandya Is Set To Break Records In The Next IPL Auction

Hardik Pandya is one of the modest destructive batters in limited overs cricket, in world cricket. In the last 12 months or so, he has made a big name for himself and established himself as one of the most important members of Indian cricket team, in limited overs cricket i.e. ODIs and T2OIs.

Pandya’s journey started with IPL when he was picked by Mumbai Indians’ scout team and he was bought for just INR 10 lakh. And the rest, as they say, is history. Pandya played some brilliant match winnings knocks for Mumbai Indians and, as a result, he was soon picked by national selectors and he mad his debut for India.

Since then, he has been performing well for India and slowly transforming himself into a proper fast bowling all-rounder who can also finish matches in the lower middle-order.

However, t is being reported that Pandya wants to be part of the auction despite Mumbai Indians being keen on retaining him. Since his IPL debut, Pandya has emerged a vital cog in Rohit Sharma’s side, leading the franchise to two titles in the past three seasons.

“Hardik wants to be at the auction and the rule says that if he isn’t ready to play for Mumbai Indians, he can certainly be at the auction,” a top board official was quoted as saying by The Times of India on Friday.

“Pandya could be the next big thing in the IPL if he is at the auction. After all, the teams will retain big India players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma,” added the report.

Hardik Pandya was purchased for a bargain price of 10 lakhs in 2013 by Mumbai Indians. The franchise increased his fees to 20 lakh three seasons later but purchased his elder brother Krunal for a whopping 2 crore in the same season.
