Mumbai Indians’ newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya delighted the fans by sharing an amazing throwback image featuring himself and legend Kieron Pollard, as the duo reunited ahead of the upcoming 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League.

For the unversed, Kieron Pollard and Hardik were teammates at Mumbai Indians until 2022, when the Indian all-rounder moved to Gujarat Titans. However, Hardik Pandya is now all set to make a comeback for his home team – Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, Pollard announced his IPL retirement before IPL 2023 and transitioned into the role of the team’s batting coach.

Recently, Hardik Pandya opened up on his return to Mumbai Indians and said it was always going to be special coming back home. He said:

“The feeling of wearing this colour is very special for me. My journey started here, and coming back home was always going to be special. Lasith Malinga has been my brother from the start and Mark Boucher has been wonderful,”

He added: “We will make sure we play a brand of cricket that all is going to be proud of and at the same point of time its going to be a ride no one will forget,”

Hardik will have his task set out for him in the very first outing as he faces his former side, Gujarat Titans, in the opening match for MI in IPL 2024 on March 24 in Ahmedabad. Hardik had previously led GT to two consecutive finals in the IPL and played a crucial role in securing the title for them in 2022.
