The third ODI match between India and Bangladesh ended in a thrilling tie on Saturday. After Bangladesh posted a total of 226 runs on the board, team India was all out for 225 runs in 49.3 overs. Courtesy of the result, both teams had to share the trophy after a 1-1 result. The game also saw some ugly scenes as Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur lost her cool and smashed the stumps.
Harmanpreet Kaur Smashed The Stumps In Anger
Yes, you read that right. the incident took place on the fourth ball of the 34th over, Harmanpreet Kaur was dismissed by Nahida Akter after getting caught by Fahima Khatun. Harmanpreet tried to play a sweep shot as the ball looked like hitting the gloves before it was caught at the slips. However, the visuals weren’t clear.
Not happy with the decision of the umpire, Harmanpreet even hit the stumps and directed some angry words toward the umpire as she walked back to the pavilion. On her way back, she even showed a thumbs-up to the celebrating crowd.

Later, after the match, Harmanpreet Kaur ranted against the decisions taken by the umpire. She said:
“I think (there is) a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening, we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly,”
She added: “They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between, we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting, but as I mentioned earlier, some pathetic umpiring was done.”
