Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are two of the biggest superstars of Indian cricket. However, as they age, the question of who will be their long-term replacements continues to engulf the Indian cricketing fraternity.

Jaffer Pick Two Players Who Can Replace Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli

While Rohit and Virat are still giving their best to the game, former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer feels the likes of Yashasvi and Shubman Gill can take Indian cricket forward after the duo of Kohli and Rohit are longer with the team. Speaking on Jio Cinema, Jaffer said:

“One is Yashasvi Jaiswal. I see him as a three-format player. He has performed amazingly well in the IPL and has made an excellent start in Test cricket,”

He added: “Shubman Gill is the second name I will take. If we talk only about batting, I see these two players as very strong contenders who will take Indian cricket forward after Rohit and Virat,”

Wasim Jaffer Also Backed Sai Sudharsan

Further, Jaffer didn’t just rest his case with Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, he also praised Gujrat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan. He feels that Sai is the sort of player who can do wonderful things with the bat. Jaffer backed Sai to continue his prolific run-scoring spree and break into the Indian squad soon. He said:

“Sai Sudharsan is a player who I have liked a lot, the way he has played in the IPL. After that, he has scored a century against Pakistan A in the emerging teams’ tournament that is going on. So I feel he can become a very good player in the future,”

Sai Sudharsan is currently playing for the Indian A team in the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup tournament at present. Sai has impressed one and all with his performances in the tournament and is expected to be closely monitored by the selection committee.
