Harry Brook became the talk of the town when he set the auction table on fire ahead of IPL 2023. Brook has witnessed a rapid rise in the last 12 months or so in international cricket. SunRisers Hyderabad brought his services for a whopping ₹13.25 crore.
As the ongoing 2023 season of the Indian Premier League kickstarted, there were a lot of expectations from Brook, firstly because of the high price he was bought at and secondly because of the amazing form he had shown in Tests and T20Is.
Fans were waiting for Brook to fire up in the IPL 2023, however, he got a reality check. Brook had a forgettable start to the tournament, scoring just 13, 3, and 13 in the first three innings of the IPL.

Harry Brook Smashed The First Century Of IPL 2023

However, his struggle finally came to an end as he played a sensational knock against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. He was promoted to the top of the order against KKR and the move turned out to be in favor of the cricketer.
Brook not just bounced back into his form but also went on to register the first century of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. Harry Brook smashed his maiden IPL century off just 55 balls to lead his side to a 23-run victory.
Harry Gave A Mouth-Shutting Reply To Indian Fans
Later, after the game, Harry Brook gave a mouth-shutting reply to his critics. He minced no words in ‘shutting up’ the Indian fans who spoke ‘rubbish’ about him for not being able to live up to the expectations. He said:
“I was putting pressure on myself a little bit after the first few games. You go on social media and people are calling you rubbish. You start to doubt yourself a little bit. I just went out there with an ‘I don’t care’ mentality tonight and thankfully it came off. There are a lot of Indian fans out there who’ll say ‘well done’ tonight. But they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up, to be honest,”
