Virat Kohli led-Indian cricket team registered a memorable win at the iconic Lord’s Stadium by defeating England by 151 runs to take a lead of 1-0 after a thrilling performance on Day 5 of the second Test match. The last day of the match turned out to be an absolute thriller as the Indian side dominated England throughout the day.
The Virat Kohli-led side only had two sessions to bundle up England, when Joe Root and co walked out to chase a target of 272 runs. However, the England batters couldn’t survive against the Indian bowling line-up and got bowled out on 120 runs.
Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 4 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah bagged three wickets. Ishant Sharma dismissed Haseeb Hameed and Jonny Bairstow. For England, only Joe Root was able to cross the 30-runs mark.
Earlier, when things looked dull for the Indian side, an unbeaten 89-run stand between Jasprit Bumrah (34*) and Mohammad Shami (56*) for the 9th wicket, boosted confidence in the visitors. Their stunning partnership also crushed the hopes of the hosts.
Meanwhile, after India won the match, social media was flooded with amazing reactions from the Twitterati, who went berserk after the historic win. Among many, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, Bollywood actor and son of Anil Kapoor, also joined the bandwagon and came up with an interesting tweet.
In his Tweet, Harsh showered praises on the Indian skipper as he hailed him as the ‘god’ of cricket. He also expressed how we all are blessed to witness him in our lifetime. He wrote:
“@imVkohli is a warrior he is a god we are blessed to experience him in our lifetimes”

However, the tweet from Harsh Vardhan didn’t go down well with the fans, who started trolling him left, right and center. There were many who pointed out that there is only ‘one’ god of cricket and he is Sachin Tendulkar.

A super proud Virat Kohli said that the team stuck to its plans and that helped. He also revealed that the Indian bowlers had the belief that they could bowl out England in 60 overs.
“Super proud of the whole team. The way we stuck to our plans after being put in. The pitch didn’t offer much in the first three days. The first day was the most challenging. The way we played in the second innings after being put under pressure – Jasprit and Shami were outstanding. We had the belief we can get them out in 60 overs,” Kohli said after winning the match.
Meanwhile, the action now moves to Headingly, Leeds where India will play the third Test match against England, third Test match between India and England will be played
