Shubman Gill’s dismissal during India’s second innings proved to be really costly for the Indian cricket team. It has been almost a week since the Indian side suffered a humiliating defeat at the World Test Championship final in 2023 but the controversial catch that dismissed Gill is still being discussed in the cricketing world.
It was a crucial moment because Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a good start to the side by taking on the Australian pacers. Team India had been scoring at an impressive rate of almost 6 runs per over, however, the catch broke the hearts of many. It was the nature of the catch taken by Cameron Green that made the catch one of the most-talked about topics.
Gill was caught by Cameron Green at slip-off Scott Boland. The catch sparked off a controversy as TV replays seemed to suggest that it had been grassed but the third umpire ruled the decision in favor of Australia. Soon after the third umpire’s decision, the crowd started booing and Shubman Gill had to walk back to the pavilion.
Harsha Bhogle’s Tweet On Shubman Gill’s Catch Has Gone Viral

Later after the end of the day, Shubman Gill took to his social media and took a dig at the third umpire. Sharing the picture of Cameron Green‘s controversial catch, Gill shared a ‘facepalm’ and ‘magnificent glass’ emoji.

Well, the discussion on Shubman’s catch was reignited on the micro-blogging site after Harsha Bhogle mistakenly posted a Tweet on the matter that he didn’t intend to.
On Saturday, Harsha shared a Tweet on Gill’s catch, writing that Gill will realize it later that sometimes things happen that you don’t like and you have to live with it. He wrote:
“As he looks back, Shubman Gill will realise that sometimes things happen that you don’t like and you have to live with it; in the same way that you happy to accept the unexpected when it goes your way. #Patience”

However, within moments, Harsha deleted that Tweet. He later took to his Twitter and explained that the tweet was saved in his drafts and was posted mistakenly. He wrote:
“I had drafted a thought at the time of the Shubman catch and left it there because I wanted to think it through when I had a bit more time. Like how we scribble a note and leave it to think about later. It stayed in the drafts folder and I had forgotten about it. I was going through a few things and it got sent by mistake. The moment has passed and I have already said what I had to so it doesn’t make sense now. We will talk about the wider issue on an AMA one of these days”
