Here’s How Virat Kohli Prepared A Surprise For Shami And Bumrah: Indian pacers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah stole the show with their bats as they played key roles in India’s terrific 151-run victory over England in the Lord’s Test. Not just they picked crucial wickets at crunch moments but also made pulled team India out of a miserable condition.
Shami and Bumrah joined hands with each other for an 89-run partnership as they smashed England bowlers to all the corners of the ground. Their partnership helped India to set England a target of 272, which they eventually failed to chase.
During the process, Shami also brought up his second half-century in Test cricket, where he smashed 6 fours and a six against England. On the other hand, Bumrah was facing lethal deliveries being bowled at him by Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson but he tackled them wisely and remained not out on 34.
Later, as the duo walked towards the dressing room for lunch, they were welcomed by their teammates and other staff as the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli had planned to make the moment more special for his teammates.
Well, in his latest video on YouTube, Ravichandran Ashwin revealed that it was Virat’s idea to praise the batting duo on their return from the middle. He said:
“When we realized, they were going to come in at lunch, Virat came and said, ‘Every one of us is going down to cheer and welcome the boys. The noise has to be so huge that it has to reverberate in Lord’s for years to come’,”
The video of their welcome went viral on social media and the fans were left in awe of the Indian cricket team’s gesture.
