Here’s How Virat Kohli’s tips Helped Mohammed Siraj Dismiss Joe Root During 3rd ODI

Mohammed Siraj marked his return to India’s white-ball team with a thunderous start by bowling a double wicket maiden in his first over of the third ODI against England at Old Trafford.

Siraj, who got a chance ninth eleven in place of the injured Jasprit Bumrah, dismissed England’s two most in-form batters – Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root – for ducks and set the tone for India early on with the ball after Mohammed Shami had been carted around for three boundaries in the first over by Jason Roy.

Although Virat Kohli isn’t the captain anymore, he has shown time and again that he doesn’t need an official title to influence his players in the right direction.

Today as well, Kohli was in the ears of Siraj giving his advice to the seamer. A video has gone viral on social media of the Royal Challengers Bangalore duo: in the video, Kohli is seen having a chat with Siraj as the pacer is getting ready to bowl to Bairstow.

Siraj struck on his third ball to dismiss the English opener: for the first couple of balls, he kept the line outside off-stump and on the third, he came into the batsman who tried to work it on the legside by closing the bat face but managed a leading edge which flew to mid-off where substitute fielder Shreyas Iyer took a dolly.

Then, as Root entered the crease, Kohli was once again having a discussion with Siraj. It paid fruition again as Root was dismissed by a beauty: another superb outswinger that pitched on off and seamed away slightly but that was enough to take the outside edge of Root’s and Rohit Sharma safely pouched the catch at the second slip.
