Here’s What Happened After Rohit Sharma Forgot His Wedding Ring In Hotel

Rohit Sharma is sweating it out with the Indian squad ahead of their next big assignment, i.e, the ICC World Test Championship final (WTC) against the Kane Williamson-led side, which will take place in Southampton on June 18. The WTC will be followed by 5 Tests versus England in the United Kingdom from August-September.

Rohit has gone through his shares of ups and downs in his career. Just like his white-ball career, Rohit struggled in the initial years of his Test career. However, things changed after he was made to open the innings for team India and since then there has been no turning back for him. He has gone upwards, especially after his marriage with ladylove, Ritika Sajdeh.

Talking about his personal life, Rohit tied the knots with the love of his life, Ritika Sajdeh in late 2015,   and the couple has been going strong ever since. Rohit and Ritika are one of the most loved couples of the country. They were blessed with a daughter 2018, named Samaira. Besides being one of the most loved cricketers in India, he is a doting husband and father off the field. However, not many are aware of the fact that he has a habit of forgetting things.

Well, in 2017, during the Gaurav Kapur’s show Breakfast With Champions episode, Rohit was accompanied by his wife Ritika, who revealed that Rohit has a forgetting thing at all times, including his wedding ring. Yes, you read that right. Rohit narrated the entire episode. He said:

Naya naya married tha yar. I was newly married. Aadat nai thi pehenne ki (I didn’t have a habit of wearing it at all times). Naya naya shaadi hua tha, toh main nikaal ke sota tha. I’ve a very bad habit of getting up late and then rushing towards the airport. I always tell my teammates to give me a call or knock on my door (in team hotel) before we leave for training or the airport. Uss din aisa nai hua. Main late hogaya aur nikal gaya. (That day, I got very late and left in a hurry).”

He added:

“Toh Umesh Yadav mere paas se guzre aur unke haath mein maine wedding ring dekha. Toh main bola ‘ohho, shit yar ring’. Maine Bhajju paa ko side mein liya aur bola ‘Bhajju paa, aapke pehchaan wala banda tha hotel mein usko bolo shayad ring mil jaaye’….Dheere dheere sabko pata chal gaya. Phir Virat Kohli ne bahut bada news bana diya. (Umesh Yadav crossed and I saw his ring and that is how I got reminded that I left mine. I told Harbhajan Singh to ask his contact, in the hotel, to search for the ring. Slowly, everyone in the team got to know about it and Virat Kohli made it a big news)”

Meanwhile, Rohit alongwith his wife Ritika and daughter Samaira were a part of Mumbai Indians’ bio-bubble in the IPL 2021, which was suspended because of the outbreak of Coronavirus within the bio-bubble. The second phase of IPL 2021 will now be held in UAE in September-October.
