“He’s A Star In The Making”, Twitter Lauds Musheer Khan As He Shattered A Long-Standing Record Of Sachin Tendulkar

If Sarfaraz Khan has been creating ripples in the international circuit, his younger brother, Musheer Khan has already hogged the limelight of the media with another gritty knock under the pump and this time it was a record-shattering one which came in the Ranji Trophy final where Mumbai is locked in a fierce battle against Vidarbha.

Not only was Musheer the crux of media fanfare for his century but he also shattered a long standing record of Sachin Tendulkar with this incredible ton. He became the youngest cricketer to register a century for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy final.

Tendulkar may have made his debut for India at the age of 16 but when it came to scoring a century in the tough domestic arcade of Indian cricket, the Ranji Trophy final, he needed five more years to get in with that crucial feat. It was at the tender age of just 20 years that he blasted his first ton for Mumbai in a Ranji final which was played in 1994-95. Known as Bombay back then, they posted a mammoth total of 690/6 before declaring their innings.

Musheer though racked up the feat at the age of 19 years and 14 days when he secured a couple of runs against Vidarbha pacer, Yash Thakur. It was the 255th ball that he would face in the innings to reach this glistening milestone.

After donning the Indian threads in the youth circuit, Musheer’s graph has only taken an upward ride. In the recently concluded U19 World Cup, he was the second highest scorer of the tournament with 360 runs, 37 adrift of the leading run-getter, Indian captain, Uday Saharan.
