Gill and Jaiswal stole the show, smashing a colossal 165-run opening partnership – a record joint-highest for India in the T20I format.

Yes, with this partnership Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill equaled the record of the highest partnerships for India for opening position in the T20Is. Shubman Gill played a fiery knock of 77 runs off 47 balls to ensure team India’s triumph in the must-win clash. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal, he played a brilliant knock of 84 runs off 51 balls. His stellar knock was laced with 11 fours and 3 sixes.

This is the second highest partnership for India in T20I cricket. These two youngsters have equaled the record of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. The highest partnership for India in the T20 format was built by Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda during the India vs Ireland series in 2022.

Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson took the game by storm as they smashed the Ireland bowlers to all the corners of the ground. They registered the record for the highest partnership for the second wicket in the T20I format – 176 runs in just 87 balls. Hooda 104, Samson 77.

When asked about the partnership, Jaiswal after the match said: “We knew which bowlers to take on.”

“Of course [international cricket] is not easy but I just love to go out and enjoy myself. I would love to thank Hardik bhai and the support staff, the way they have spoken it really had an impact. I just try to play how the team needs and how I can express myself. I just think of how quickly I can score and how many runs I can get in the powerplay. Of course reading the wicket and reading the situation, but my intent is always to score runs.”
