“I am not playing World Cup…” – MS Dhoni Gave A Hilarious Reply And Left Everyone In Splits

The Indian cricket team will be without the services of MS Dhoni in the dressing room, for the first time since the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. While the legendary captain led the Indian side in the first 6 editions of the World Cup, he was roped in as the team’s mentor for the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. Over all these years, the Indian side has come close to the trophy a couple of times but has faltered when it mattered the most. In the 2021 edition, team India under Virat Kohli’s leadership failed to make it beyond the league stage for the first time in the tournament’s history.

This time MS Dhoni won’t be around the Indian cricket team when the Rohit Sharma-led side will kick off its campaign against Pakistan on October 23. Despite retiring from international cricket 2 years ago, Dhoni still remains to be one of the most-followed cricketers. The former Indian captain recently attended a promotional event and as the anchor started to talk about cricket, Dhoni left everyone present in the room in splits with a hilarious reply.

“I am not playing the World Cup. The team has already left,” said Dhoni even before the host could ask any question about cricket.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni will be next seen in action in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Before the end of IPL 2022, Dhoni had confirmed that he would be a part of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League and will also lead Chennai Super Kings.

The BCCI also confirmed that all the franchises will play half of their games at home, which also means that Dhoni will be leading Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium for the first time since 2019. Also, this time there will be a mini-auction ahead of the main tournament, which will take place in December in Bengaluru. The franchises will have to reveal the list of retained and released players in November.
