Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey heaped praises on Indian captain Virat Kohli and said “anyone who wants to write him off in this tournament will probably have to eat humble pie”.
“He is a class player and anyone who wants to write him off in this tournament will probably have to eat humble pie!” Hussey said during an interaction ahead of the ICC event.
Kohli has’t been in good form off late. He struggled in the Test series against Australia. And in the recently concluded IPL 2017, he score just 308 runs in 10 innings.
But, Michael Hussey aka Mr Cricket is confident that Kohli will step in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and will show his class once again. Hussey described Kohli as a ‘gun player’ who can’t be kept down for too long.
“You can’t keep a gun player down for long and I am sure he will be very determined to play well in England and show the world his class again,” Hussey added.
India will defend their Champions Title, which they won in 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni, in England under Kohli’s captaincy. India have a very balanced squad and they are one of the strongest sides in the tournament.
