Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav continues to rise in his T20I career. Following his sensational T20I century against New Zealand, Suryakumar Yadav has further widened the gap between his number 1 ranked T20I men’s batter position and the rest.
In the second T20I against the Black Caps in Mount Maunganui, the right-handed batter smashed 111 unbeaten runs in 52 balls and was the only batter across both teams who looked fluent and played his shots with ease.

Following his spectacular century – his second in T20Is and both have come this year – Suryakumar’s T20I batting ratings jumped to his career-best 895 points.
Although it dipped slightly back to 890 after he managed only 11 runs in the third T20I, Suryakumar Yadav is much ahead of the second-placed Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistani opener who has rating points 836. Suryakumar Yadav was named the Man of the Series for the series which India won 1-0 with the first game washed out and the third match ending in a tie.
In the third position is New Zealand opener Devon Conway with 788 rating points who replaced Babar Azam from this position, the Pakistani captain having 778 points.
There were a few other movers too in the latest ICC rankings. India opener Ishan Kishan, who registered scores of 36 and 10 in New Zealand, climbed up 10 spots to number 33. New Zealand duo Glenn Phillips (up one spot to seventh) and Kane Williamson (up five spots to 35th), both of whom hit a fifty each in the series made progress in the T20I men’s batter ranking.
There were no changes in the top 10 T20I men’s bowlers rankings. But, India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who registered bowling figures of 1/12 in the second T20I before being cracked for 0/35 in the third, moved up two spots to 11th to sit just outside the Top 10, and New Zealand veteran speedster Tim Southee climbed up two places to equal 14th with a hat-trick in the second T20I.
India and New Zealand will meet in the upcoming 3-ODI series starting Friday.
