Praveen Kumar’s Bold Take On Gautam Gambhir-Virat Kohli Spat: The on-field confrontation between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) triggered widespread discussions among cricket enthusiasts worldwide. In the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, Kohli and Gambhir engaged in a verbal spat, with other players stepping in to separate them.
Talking about the same incident, former Indian fast bowler Praveen Kumar suggests that such incidents are part of cricket matches and adds that if Gambhir admonishes Kohli as an ‘elder brother,’ it shouldn’t lead to controversy.

In a conversation with Lallantop, Praveen shared insights about Kohli, a fellow cricketer from their domestic cricket days. He shed light on the key elements that contribute to the star batsman’s success in international cricket. He said:
“Great guy. He knows how to score runs. That is why he has reached such heights. Working on his body, proper diet – He knows it well. He is my younger brother,”
Praveen was also asked about Gautam Gambhir and he said:
“He is elder. He is my elder brother,”
Further, when questioned about the on-field clash between Kohli and Gambhir, Praveen Kumar promptly responded, offering his opinion on the matter. He said:
“It does not matter if the elder brother scolds the younger one. He is older, he can scold him.”
Earlier, Praveen stated that ball tampering was a widespread practice among players. He went on to mention that Pakistan bowlers engaged in it more frequently than others to enhance their ability to generate reverse swing. He said:
“Everyone does a little bit; they (Pakistan bowlers) do it a bit more. That’s what I’ve heard. Now, there are cameras everywhere. Earlier, everyone used to do it. And everyone knows as well. They would scratch it from one side. But you need to know how to use that skill, too. If I scratch the ball and give to someone, one will need to have the skills to reverse-swing it. One has to learn that,”
