Imad Wasim played an instrumental role in Islamabad United’s win in the must-win clash of the ongoing tournament. The Shadab Khan-led side registered a five-wicket win and reached the final match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League.
Imad Wasim Gave An Epic Reaction To Babar Azam Fans Who Teased Him With ‘Babar Babar’ Chants
After the match, Imad Wasim was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for his incredible performance in the Eliminator 2 clash against Peshawar Zalmi. With the ball, he conceded just 23 runs in his four overs quota and scored an unbeaten 59 runs off 40 deliveries. His stunning knock was laced with 9 fours.
Though, Imad gave a brilliant performance, however, Babar Azam‘s fans were left dissatisfied. Reflecting their dissatisfaction, Babar’s fans started teasing Imad with the chants of ‘Babar Babar’, trying to bring Imad down. The chants resounded throughout the National Stadium in Karachi, drawing the attention of Imad.
For the unversed, the reason why fans were angry at Imad was his past remarks about Babar Azam’s performances. Imad Wasim has always been very vocal about Babar Azam’s form. He has been openly criticizing Babar’s performances, especially after the ODI World Cup 2024 match against Australia. Imad feels that the former Pakistan captain hasn’t delivered anything noteworthy with his performances for the national team off-lately.

Meanwhile, the captain of Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan sympathized with teammate Imad Wasim after he received harsh treatment from the fans. Speaking about the same during the post-match presentation, Shadab said:
“Obviously dukh hota hai. Itne lambe arse ke liye Pakistan ke liye khelna, performance karna. Aisi cheezein jo hamaara crowd hai woh aisi cheezein kar raha tha. Aapko feel hota hai ‘Maine isi mulk ke liye khela hai aur isi mulk ke liye matches jeetayein hain, aur hamaare log aisa treat kar rahe hain’ so woh thoda feel hota hai.”
