Virat Kohli has become the first batsman in cricket history to score double hundreds in four consecutive series. He started this trend by scoring his first double hundred in Test cricket against West Indies and since then Kohli has smashed double hundred in every Test series he has played; New Zealand, England and Bangladesh.

But, there is one thing noteworthy in Virat Kohli’s attitude towards building a big innings in Test cricket. In his four double hundreds, Virat Kohli hit just one six. Kohli is a very aggressive batsman and he likes going arial whenever he gets a chance to flex his muscles. Even his coach Rajkumar Sharma has noted this in his approach. Rajkumar said that Kohli is making a conscious effort to not hit sixes in Test cricket.

“He has made a conscious effort to not hit sixes in Test cricket. He has all the shots to score runs, so why take any risk of playing the ball in the air. His intention is to play along the ground as much as possible,” Virat Kohli’s coach Rajkumar Sharma was quotes as saying by Hindustantimes.com.

Virat Kohli has all the shots in the book and in limited-overs cricket formats, we see him hitting big sixes in almost every innings he plays. The only six that he hit in all 4 of his double hundreds, came against England at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
