List Of Records Rohit Sharma Broke With His Knock Of 121* Runs

Rohit Sharma faced a challenging start in the series against Afghanistan, enduring back-to-back ducks in the initial two matches. However, he managed to break free from the slump with a remarkable century in the third T20I, reaching the milestone off just 64 balls. This century propelled Rohit past his India and Mumbai Indians teammate, Suryakumar Yadav, and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, both of whom have four T20I centuries each.

The beginning of the innings wasn’t favorable for Rohit Sharma or India, with the team experiencing their toughest Powerplay of the series, losing four wickets, including key players Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson, who both departed without scoring. Despite the challenging situation, Rohit exhibited remarkable resilience, taking on the responsibility and building a crucial partnership with Rinku Singh (69*), who showcased his batting prowess beyond his usual finishing role.

Here’s the updated list for most centuries in T20Is:

Rohit Sharma (India) – 5
Suryakumar Yadav (India) – 4
Glenn Maxwell (Australia) – 4

Rohit Sharma has surpassed former England captain Eoin Morgan to hold the record for the most sixes by a captain in T20Is. With a total of 87 sixes, the Indian opener has eclipsed Morgan’s career tally of 86 sixes. This achievement further underscores Rohit Sharma’s prowess as a dynamic and aggressive captain in the T20 format.

Adding to his list of records, Rohit Sharma now holds the distinction of being the Indian captain with the most runs in T20 Internationals. Surpassing the previous record held by former captain Virat Kohli, Rohit has accumulated an impressive total of 1647 runs in T20Is, showcasing his consistency and impact as a leader in the shortest format of the game.

The updated list is as follows:

1578* – Rohit Sharma
1570 – Virat Kohli
1112 – MS Dhoni

Rohit Sharma concluded his innings with an outstanding score of 121, marking the fourth-highest individual total by an Indian in a single T20 International innings. His remarkable performance not only guided India to a strong total in the third T20I against Afghanistan but also showcased his exceptional batting prowess in the format.
