IND vs AUS: David Warner Is ‘Exhausted’ Ahead Of India vs Australia Test Series

The mental and physical fatigue of the jam-packed cricket schedule in the current times can get too much for even the best, the in-form ones, and the fittest. David Warner, the star Australian opener, is feeling “exhausted” after a big home season, following multi-format matches and a stint in the BBL, and ahead of next month’s crucial Test tour of India.

Warned is so much gassed out from playing excessive top-flight cricket that he’s even pondering over skipping the Cricket Australia awards, scheduled for the upcoming Monday, and take some rest at the comforts of his home and family.

David Warner’s schedule may not have ended here and he would have been playing this weekend had his BBL side Sydney Thunder gone deeper in the tournament, but they were eliminated by Brisbane Heat in the knockout Eliminator on Friday.

“It’s been challenging. I’m quite tired, exhausted,” David Warner told reporters of his schedule.

Warner’s schedule was really hectic: Starting in August, he played in the white-ball series against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, England, and the West Indies, followed by the T20 World Cup. He featured in every Test match against the West Indies and South Africa, and yet managed to play in 6 BBL games for Sydney Thunder.

Amid this, Warner also was left frustrated and disappointed during the period when he appealed to overturn the lifetime leadership ban from CA, but eventually pulled out his appeal after being tired of the lengthy process and for the mental health of his family.

David Warner will have 5 days of rest before he flies with the Test squad to India for what is set to be an intense, grueling, and highly challenging Test series with a WTC final berth at stake.

“From my perspective, that would’ve been nice to have had another night at home. But it is what it is,” Warner said of the possibility of skipping the CA awards.
