IND vs AUS: Fans React After Bhuvneshwar Kumar Was Ignored For Australia Series – The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia, which will kickstart on November 23, 2023, in Visakhapatnam. While Suryakumar Yadav has been designated as the captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been assigned the responsibility of vice-captaincy for the initial three T20Is. Shreyas Iyer will assume the role of vice-captain in the squad for the last two T20Is.
While Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested, on the other end, Hardik Pandya, who had been captaining the T20I side since the start of the year, missed out due to the injury he picked up during the World Cup.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal were among the notable omissions from the squad.
Despite an impressive performance in the domestic circuit, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ignored by the Indian squad. He had secured 16 wickets in 7 matches for Uttar Pradesh in the SMAT at an impressive economy of 5.84, however, he was overlooked by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee.
Meanwhile, fans on social media were left disappointed with the exclusion of Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the Indian squad. Many felt that it was the end of the road for the senior Indian bowler, especially with the T20 World Cup in line.
Check out the reactions of the fans:
Bhuvi last played for India in November of last year – in a T20I in New Zealand before being dropped for the home series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. He failed to feature in the Indian squad for the three ODIs against Australia and even though Bhuvneshwar turned up for all 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, the India quick has not been seen since.
