India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a sensational comeback on Thursday as he picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the ongoing first Test against Australia in Nagpur. Ahead of the series, there were a lot of questions about Jadeja’s form as he was returning to action after a long injury lay-off, however, he silenced his critics as he scalped his 11th Test five-for to put India in a commanding position.

Notably, before the ongoing match, Jadeja’s last game for India was against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup last August. Following this, he was out of action due to a knee injury. He miss the T20 World Cup last year, where his presence was badly missed.

Ravindra Jadeja, who is playing his first international match after more than five months, made an immediate impact and accounted for the dismissal of three Australian batters in his first 14 overs of the game on day 1 of the ongoing 1st Test match in Nagpur. His first victim became the world’s No. 1 Test batter, Marnus Labuschagne as he sent him back k to the dugout on the second last ball of the 36th over of the Australian innings.

On the next ball, he trapped Matt Renshaw in front of the wickets for a golden duck. He also dismissed Todd Murphy. Jadeja returned to end the stay of Steve Smith in the middle in the 42nd over of the Australian innings. Jadeja (5/47) then trapped Peter Handscomb (31) in the final session of the day. He returned figures of five for 42 as Australia was bowled out for a paltry total of 177 in the first innings after opting to bat first.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled as India’s best all-rounder made a blockbuster return to form. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone took to social media to hail the brilliance of Ravindra Jadeja.
