IND VS AUS: Steve Smith To Lead Australia In 4th Test In The Absence Of Pat Cummins: Pat Cummins won’t be playing in the fourth Test against India, thus Steve Smith will continue to captain Australia. In order to care for his unwell mother, Cummins will remain at home. Once the Delhi Test was finished, Cummins went for Sydney, and Smith captained his team to a 9-wicket victory in the third Test at Indore.

As the customary captain Pat Cummins is still at home caring for his ill mother, Steve Smith will command Australia in the fourth and final Test match against India. In Cummins’ place, Steve Smith had led the team in Indore. After the Delhi Test, Cummins took a flight back home to be with his dying mother. According to Cricket.com.au, Cummins will stay in Sydney.

After the final Test of IND VS AUS , there are three ODIs; a decision regarding Cummins’ participation in those matches will be made later.

BCCI shifts third India-Australia Test from Dharamsala to Indore

Last week in Indore, Smith led Australia to a nine-wicket victory. India is up 2-1 in the series and needs a victory to go to the World Test Championship championship game.
Australia qualified for the WTC summit match in London in June with the victory in Indore.
Also, according to the website, Nathan Ellis will play for Australia in ODIs starting in March in lieu of the injured Jhye Richardson.
