[IND vs AUS] Suryakumar Yadav Got Trolled Badly For Saying “Be Fearless”

Suryakumar Yadav has been facing a lot of trolling on social media in recent days. From his performance in the World Cup 2023 final against Australia to his press conference on the eve of his leading India for the first time- Suryakumar Yadav has been criticized and thrown plenty of flak at by the fans on social media.

Just three days after India’s loss in the World Cup final, India and Australia will resume their bilateral rivalry wit ha 5-match T20I series starting Thursday in Vizag. Only 9 of the 30 squad members involved in the World Cup final across both teams are part of the squads for this series. But this series is important for both teams as they start to prepare for next year’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav has been given his first chance to captain India in T20Is. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer (available for last two T20Is) are the vice-captains.

On the eve of the first T20I in Vizag, Suryakumar Yadav attended the press conference and spoke of his message to the youngsters. Suryakumar, who is the number 1 ranked ICC T20I batsman, said that the message has been clear to the youngsters: be selfless and fearless in your approach, and play for you team.

“When I met the squad in the afternoon today, I told them to be very selfless when you go into the field. Because I’m a guy who doesn’t think too much about personal milestones but instead thinks of a team’s goal. And I’ve always told them that you have to keep the team first,” Suryakumar said.

“My message to them has been very clear – just be fearless and do whatever it takes to help the team.”

This statement from Suryakumar Yadav didn’t go down well with the fans, who trolled him for his knock of 18 runs in 28 balls in the World Cup final, though it must be noted that the format was different and the pitch and Aussie bowling was extremely challenging.

Fans troll Suryakumar Yadav for asking youngsters to be “fearless” and “selfless”:
