IND vs ENG: 10 Best Memes From India’s Series-Clinching Win In 2nd T20I

IND vs ENG: For the second game in a row, India thrashed England by a big margin again, in Edgbaston on Saturday, and now have sealed this three-T20I series with one match to go. This also meant that India have won 14 T20Is on a trot under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy!

This 49-run win in Edgbaston will be even sweeter than the 50-run victory in Southampton a couple of days ago. Because, today India were seemingly set for only a below par total when they were 122/6 at 15.1 overs. But Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant batting heroics with the tailenders meant the visitors finished with a part total of 170, while England were bowled out for 121.

India win 14th consecutive T20I under Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma had a new opening partner in Rishabh Pant and the duo clattered the English bowlers right from the start in a partnership of 49 runs off 29 balls. England stormed back in the game with debutant seamer Richard Gleeson nipping out the top three of Rohit Sharma (31 off 20), Pant (26 off 15) and Virat Kohli (1 off 3), which were followed by dismissals of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik in quick time with all three of them scoring 15 or fewer.

Jadeja, who was invovled in Karthik’s run-out, didn’t give up and fought till the end, hitting some lusty blows, five fours in all, during his 29-ball stay for 46 runs that saw India finish at 170.

Like in the previous game, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s prodigious movement troubled the English openers and this time he had both Jason Roy and Jos Buttler in his pocket, followed by Jasprit Bumrah dismissing Liam Livingstone- all inside the powerplay.

Wickets of Harry Brook, Dawid Malan, both to Yuzvendra Chahal, and Moeen Ali to Hardik Pandya effectively ended England’s challenge even though Willey smashed some hits to the fence later on, it was all too late.
