IND vs ENG: R Ashwin Gives An Angry Reaction To Ravindra Jadeja After Getting Run Out; Watch

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have a great understanding when both are bowling in tandem. However, it wasn’t the case when both were batting in India’s first innings in the first Test against England in Hyderabad as Ashwin got run out following a mix-up with Jadeja.

A length ball from Joe Root was tapped on the offside by R Ashwin and he set off for a quick single. Even Ravindra Jadeja, the non-striker, got out of his crease and took a few steps. However, Jadeja quickly realized that the single was not available as Tom Hartley slid across at cover and picked it up swiftly.

But by the time Jadeja decided to turn back and shout no to Ashwin for the single, Ashwin was almost parallel to him. Replays showed that both the Indian batters were watching the ball and not each other. Hartley, seeing both batters close to the non-striker’s end, fired the throw to wicket-keeper Ben Foakes who dislodged the bails in a flash. Since Ravindra Jadeja got back in his crease before Ashwin arrived, it was Ashwin who was run out.

Both the players stood at the bowler’s end, facing each other as Ashwin got run out. Ashwin was observed fuming and staring at Jadeja before speaking a few words. Jadeja responded with a hand gesture, saying that the ball was near the fielder.

Commentator Ravi Shastri tried to describe the dressing room scene when both will be together.

Shastri said: “Both will sit in different corners of the dressing room.

Ravindra Jadeja’s wicket was more important than R Ashwin’s, undoubtedly. The left-hander ended Day 2 in Hyderabad with 81 on his name and will look to bring up a century tomorrow morning. Partnering him is Axar Patel, who smashed 5 fours and a six, in his knock of 35* runs. India are sitting in the driver’s seat with a lead of 175 runs.
