[IND vs ENG] "He Is Fearless..": Ravi Shastri Hailed Captain Rohit Sharma

Former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri showered praise on current Indian captain Rohit Sharma after the Indian cricket team defeated England in the IND vs ENG Cricket World Cup 2023 match at Lucknow on Sunday.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team thrashed the England cricket team by 100 runs. Rohit Sharma played a sensational knock of 87 runs under pressure during India’s innings. He played like a lone wolf after India’s top order collapsed and led the side from the front. Later on, he was impressive with his bowling changes.

Ravi Shastri Hailed Captain Rohit Sharma As Fearless

After the big win, Ravi Shastri hailed Rohit for being “calm and composed” in the tournament. He also said that Rohit looks to be in “element” in the World Cup 2023. He said:

“In this tournament, Rohit Sharma appeared to be in his element; he has been calm and composed. Even today, when we consider the bowling changes, where the bowlers aren’t given long spells, Rohit Sharma changes the spells without any fear”,

Further, Shastri also lauded Rohit Sharma’s bowling changes during the IND vs ENG game. He said that the Indian skipper keeps the batters guessing. He said:

“He utilized Mohammad Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah so that the batsmen do not settle into a rhythm. He keeps the batsmen guessing about what’s next”,

Mohammad Kaif Also Heaped Praise On Sharma

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also shared the same sentiment and said Rohit did a brilliant job with his bowling changes. He said:

“Even though Rohit Sharma lost the toss and had to bat first, he did a commendable job. When it came to bowling, he did an excellent job using Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Shami. It is significant to know when to use which bowlers and to make these changes”
