Sarfaraz Khan Finally Earns His Maiden Test Call-Up: In the ongoing five-match series against England, Team India, trailing 0-1, received a double blow on Monday as star players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out of the second Test set to begin on Friday in Vizag. According to the BCCI, Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad, while Rahul complained of pain in his right quadriceps.

The BCCI’s medical team is keeping a close eye on both players, given the remaining three matches in the series after the Vizag Test.

Mr. Ravindra Jadeja and Mr. KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second IDFC First Bank Test against England in Vizag, starting February 02, 2024. Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad while Rahul complained of a right quadriceps pain. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring the progress of the duo,” the BCCI said in a statement.

The Indian cricket team has added Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar to the squad for the second Test against England.

Sarfaraz Khan secured his debut call-up to the Indian team following a standout performance against the England Lions in the four-day unofficial Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 26-year-old claimed the Player of the Match honor for his remarkable innings, scoring 161 runs off 160 balls, featuring 18 fours and 5 sixes.

Following his stellar innings, Sarfaraz Khan played a pivotal role in India A’s victory, securing an innings win by 16 runs. With an impressive track record, Sarfaraz has accumulated 3,912 runs in 45 first-class matches, boasting an average of 69.85 and a strike rate of 70.48. His remarkable stats include 14 centuries and 11 half-centuries.

Notably, Sarfaraz recorded his highest score of 301 not out during a Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh in January 2020 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He showcased exceptional form in the 2022 Ranji Trophy, amassing 982 runs at an average of 122.75, including four centuries and two fifties.
