IND vs WI: The BCCI on Friday announced the much-awaited Test and ODI squads for the upcoming West Indies tour. For the unversed, the tour schedule and venues for the upcoming West Indies versus India multi-format series is to be held in July and August this year. The much-awaited series will kickstart with two Tests, which will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
Meanwhile, after India’s humiliating defeat at the World Test Championship 2023 Final, the BCCI has taken some bold steps in the Test squad. However, there are no surprises in the ODI squads for the West Indies tour even with the ODI World Cup 2023 scheduled to take place later this year.

Cheteshwar Pujara Dropped From Test Squad:
The BCCI has finally decided to move on from the senior players after the WTC final 2023 defeat. The likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami have been removed from the Test format.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal Have Earned Maiden Test Call-Ups
On the other hand, some young talent has earned a call-up from the Indian board. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Mukesh Kumar have earned maiden Test call-ups for the Test series.
Yashasvi and Ruturaj, who have been making sensations in the cricketing world with their consistent performances, are likely to get picked for the upcoming series.
Ajinkya Rahane back as Test vice-captain:
Ajinkya Rahane, who recently made a comeback in the Indian Team, played a crucial knock in the WTC Final 2023. He will return as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team.
Sanju Samson is back
Talking about the ODI squad, Sanju Samson storms back into the ODI squad. He will join the team as the second wicketkeeper-batter option.
Hardik Pandya will continue as the vice-captain in ODIs:
