Australia’s left-arm spinner Steve O’Keefe was the star of the show in the first Test match of the ongoing 4-match Test series between India and Australia. On a rank turner in Pune, Steve O’Keefe tricked Indian batsmen and made them look very ordinary.

Indian batsmen are known for their good technique against spinners but, taking everybody by surprise, Steve O’Keefe tricked the Indian batters in their own backyard. In a press-conference, Steve O’Keefe revealed that Sridharan Sriram has been the biggest influence and working with him has made O’Keefe a better bowler. He also said that Sriram’s local experience came very handy for him and it made him more accustomed to the local conditions.

This is what Steve O’Keefe said:

“I think the biggest influence has been Sri (Sriram). I’ve worked with him in Chennai in the ‘A’ series. I come on the field, I get to speak with him, he’s a local so he knows the conditions. I get to spend lunch time bowling with him. And he understands how to bowl in these conditions. How the batters are thinking. He has been the biggest help along with the other coaching staff,” O’Keefe told yesterday.
