Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag is one of the most followed cricketers on social networking website Twitter. Sehwag, unlike other Indian cricketers, doesn’t hesitate to share his views on social media and this is precisely the reason why he has become such a big hit on Twitter.
Few days after clashes broke out between left wing students and right wing students in Ramjas College of Delhi University, Gurmehar Kaur – a Lady Sri Ram College (LSRC) student, who also happens to be a Kargil martyr’s daughter, initiated a social media campaign targeting Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP) student outfit Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Gurmehar started a campaign against ABVP on social networking websites and her friends and other students from the left wing, joined her and it became a trending topic on the internet. Notably, Gurmehar had previously posted another message which read, “Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him.”
Virender Sehwag, who didn’t agree with what Gurmehar had posted, shared his own version of the message. This is what Sehwag wrote on Twitter:
