England’s fast bowler James Anderson was in news for all the wrong reasons after his lose statement about Virat Kohli’s technique. But, in a major blow to England’s chances for the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Test series between India and England, James Anderson has been ruled out due to multiple injury issues.
“It is a bit of everything, ankle and shoulder. A bit of bowling soreness. We are trying to look after him,” Alastair Cook was quoted as saying by BBC.
James Anderson was nursing a shoulder injury and he made a comeback to Test cricket after a long gap in the second Test match of the ongoing series. Returning from a stress fracture in his right shoulder, Anderson’s last Test appearance came in August against Pakistan at the Oval. Anderson is England’s leading wicket taker in Test cricket and he is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of his generation.
England are 3-0 down in the series and after the first Test, India have been a better team with a significant margin. In the fourth Test at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, Team India decimated England and won the match by a massive margin of an innings and 36 runs. India’s skipper Virat Kohli scored the third double-hundred of his Test career and led India to a convincing series win against England.
