India vs England 2016: This is why Rohit Sharma wasn’t picked for ODIs and T20s

India announced their squads for ODIs and T20Is against England on Friday. Swashbuckling all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been picked in both the squads and this has come has a big relief for his fans who were waiting for his comeback.

Selectors have once again picked a very young squad as the focus is on building the team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Many young/inexperienced players have been retained from the squad that played against New Zealand last year. Players like Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey showed good character in the ODI series against New Zealand and  selectors have rewarded their performances by trusting them for the big series against England.

While many fans were happy with Yuvraj Singh’s inclusion some questioned the absence of India’s dashing opener Rohit Sharma from ODI and T20 squads. Rohit is recovering from an injury which he picked after the 5-match ODI series against New Zealand. Rohit went under the knife and it will take some more for him to get back on the field.

Rohit was in good form before he got injured, scoring three fifties in the three-Test series against New Zealand, with an impressive average of 79.33. The Mumbai batsman took to Twitter to reveal why he wasn’t picked for upcoming ODI and T20I series against England.
